Course Description

Learn to expand your clinical reasoning and driving risk assessment skills! This course takes everything you have learned about evaluating driving in the clinic and applies it specific medical conditions and case studies. Take your knowledge to the next level by learning about diagnostic specific considerations and evidence-based practice for stroke, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and other progressive neurological conditions, amputation or limb loss, orthopedic conditions, cerebral palsy, & Autism Spectrum Disorder. Explore specific Evidenced Based Consensus Statements, identify key considerations from the Clinician’s Guide to Assessing & Counseling Older Drivers, explore current research, apply the OT DRIVE model to making clinical decisions, and test your own knowledge for determining outcomes.
